Legal Specialist
Keyway
Keyway is building the AI infrastructure powering the future of real estate. Our multi-agent platform automates high-impact workflows—from comp analysis and underwriting to document abstraction and investment scoring. We’re trusted by leading investors like Starwood Capital and Two Sigma and backed by top venture firms.
We’re looking for a Legal Specialist to embed transaction, lending, and leasing expertise directly into our products. If you’re ready to turn your legal know-how into software that helps the entire industry close deals in record time, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Translate practice into product: break down purchase, loan, and lease clauses so engineers can model them in code.
- Map end-to-end workflows for acquisitions, financings, and NNN leases—flagging every approval, filing, and deadline.
- Build and maintain clause libraries, logic trees, and playbooks that power document automation.
- Stress-test prototypes with real-world scenarios; surface gaps before launch.
- Track regulatory changes (state landlord-tenant law, UCC filings, lending regs) and propose product tweaks.
- Own knowledge management: create wikis, checklists, and glossaries for internal teams.
- Join customer calls to gather feedback and validate pain points.
About you
- 4+ years in commercial-real-estate transactions (paralegal, legal analyst, or similar).
- Stellar written and verbal communication—you can explain an escrow waterfall without legalese.
- Insatiable curiosity about technology; you constantly ask, “Could this be automated?”
- Experience structuring information—spreadsheets, flowcharts, or any tool that tames complexity.
- Bonus: exposure to CLM or document-automation tools (Ironclad, Juro, etc.), data-room administration, or M&A diligence tracking.
Personal Qualifications We Value at Keyway
- Entrepreneurial: driven to test ideas with stakeholders, validate assumptions quickly, and iterate.
- Results-oriented: high motor, laser-focused on details, able to own projects from planning through delivery with minimal oversight.
- Analytical: data-driven mindset and superior attention to detail.
- Low ego, high ownership: willing to admit mistakes, learn fast, and step up wherever needed.
- Adaptable: comfortable reprioritizing on the fly in a fast-moving startup environment.
At Keyway, we celebrate diversity and recognize the value it brings to our customers and employees. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
