Hi there!
At Flipflow, we're looking for an Anti-Bot Engineer to join our Technology team and play a key role in how our platform collects data at scale from the open web — reliably, efficiently and undetected.
This is a very hands-on, full-time engineering role, deep in the trenches of web scraping infrastructure and anti-detection systems.
You will work at the intersection of Engineering, Research and Operations, ensuring our crawlers can access any public website, bypass bot-detection systems and deliver high-quality data to our customers.
About Flipflow & Our Mission
Flipflow is a Retail Market Intelligence & Digital Shelf Analytics SaaS platform, currently scaling internationally after strong growth in Spain and Latin America.
Since our launch in 2022, our mission has been clear:
To give brands, manufacturers and retailers a real-time, actionable and reliable cockpit and AI copilot to understand their products, competitors and markets — enabling better business decisions.
Retail is undergoing one of the biggest transformations in its history: markets are global, competition is tougher than ever, and margins increasingly depend on execution and data.
At Flipflow, we believe real-time competitive intelligence is no longer optional — it's a strategic advantage.

Your Challenge & Impact
We collect data from hundreds of retailers and marketplaces worldwide — each with different anti-bot protections, page structures and access challenges.
As an Anti-Bot Engineer, your mission is to ensure that:
Customer accounts receive complete, accurate data by keeping crawlers running at full capacity
Anti-bot and anti-scraping protections are systematically analyzed, understood and bypassed
Our scraping infrastructure evolves to stay ahead of detection systems, reduce block rates and increase data coverage
What will you do?
Research, reverse-engineer and bypass anti-bot systems (Cloudflare, Akamai, DataDome, PerimeterX/HUMAN, Kasada, custom WAFs, etc.)
Develop and maintain stealth browser automation solutions using tools like Puppeteer, Playwright or custom browser patches — ensuring crawlers mimic real user behavior.
Design and implement fingerprint evasion techniques — TLS fingerprinting, browser fingerprinting, header normalization, canvas/WebGL spoofing and related methods.
Build, test and optimize proxy rotation strategies across residential, mobile and datacenter proxies to maximize success rates and minimize costs.
Investigate, debug and resolve access failures and block patterns across hundreds of target websites.
Develop CAPTCHA handling strategies — integrating solving services, analyzing challenge types and reducing CAPTCHA trigger rates.
Monitor crawl success rates and proactively detect changes in anti-bot behavior before they impact data collection.
Write code on a daily basis using LLM-assisted development tools (such as Cursor or similar) to understand existing code, implement solutions, refactor and speed up delivery.
Document anti-bot patterns, evasion techniques and recurring solutions to build an internal knowledge base that scales with the team.
Your Profile
2–4 years of experience in Anti-Bot Engineering, Web Scraping, Security Research or similar roles.
Strong experience with browser automation (Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium) and stealth techniques.
Solid knowledge of HTTP protocol internals, TLS handshake mechanics, browser fingerprinting vectors and common anti-bot detection methods.
Experience with Python and/or TypeScript (Node.js) — ideally both.
Familiarity with proxy management — residential, mobile and datacenter proxies, rotation logic and IP reputation.
Understanding of JavaScript obfuscation/deobfuscation and ability to reverse-engineer client-side bot detection scripts.
Experience using version control systems (Git-based workflows) and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills — you enjoy the cat-and-mouse game.
Able to work autonomously and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor's degree in:
Computer Science (Grado en Ingeniería Informática) — focused on software engineering, systems, networks and security.
Cybersecurity or related specialization — with strong emphasis on web security and adversarial techniques.
Or equivalent professional experience in related technical fields.
Core Competencies
At Flipflow, we value engineers who combine technical skills with operational impact.
We're looking for someone with:
Ownership mindset, reliability and a strong bias towards action
Practical, execution-focused mindset
Solid communication and collaboration skills
Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
Motivation to learn, improve and grow with the product
Adversarial thinking — you understand how detection systems work and enjoy finding creative ways around them
What We Offer
Compensation: Competitive salary aligned with a mid-level engineering role
Real impact: Your work directly enables the entire platform's data collection
Accelerated learning: Exposure to cutting-edge anti-bot systems, browser internals and adversarial security. You will also work alongside amazing Senior teammates building complex software.
Flipflow culture: High standards, autonomy, frequent feedback and strong teamwork
Flexibility: Hybrid model (2 days remote / 3 onsite)
Location: Offices in La Marina, Valencia, within the Lanzadera ecosystem
If you're excited about understanding how the web works at its deepest level and outsmarting the systems designed to stop you, we'd love to meet you.
