The Role
We’re hiring a Head of Growth – Retail to lead our expansion into mass retail and specialty pet channels across Europe.
You’ve done this before: scaled a pet brand in retail from scratch to millions, closed deals with key retailers, and built long-term relationships with category managers. You understand the complexity of physical retail — from listings to logistics — and how to win shelf space in both mainstream and niche pet stores.
This role is about ownership and scale. You’ll take Barkyn’s retail channel from early wins to multi-market traction.
What You’ll Do
Own and execute Barkyn’s offline retail growth strategy
Lead expansion into mass market and specialty pet retail across Europe
Manage relationships with category managers and key buyers
Build retail playbooks for listing, activation, and performance
Define pricing, promotion, and go-to-market tactics per geography
Work cross-functionally with ops, marketing, product, and finance to align execution
What You Bring
✅ Must-Have
7+ years of experience in retail and offline sales
Experience scaling a pet brand in retail, from launch to multi-million revenue
Deep knowledge of mass market and specialized pet retail channels
Existing relationships or direct experience with category managers
Successfully operated in at least two European geographies
Strong negotiation, retail activation, and margin management skills
